The mission of the Friends of Tackapausha, Inc., is to assist the County of Nassau in providing environmental education programming and activities at Tackapausha Museum and Preserve to the general public.

We are a group composed of scientists, community representatives, and representatives from environmental organizations. Our mission is to assist the museum staff with programming, items they need for the museum, and any other support we can provide.

We run an annual Craft Fair in October, a speaker series on Friday evenings periodically throughout the year, and bird banding during the Spring, Summer and Fall. We will be doing other programs throughout the year. Our Board is also on hand to assist to the museum staff with their programs, such as the Annual Halloween and Christmas Parties.
